Randomness

Hey. So I love Tumblr and I check Tumblr blogs out even though I don't have Tumblr...okay too much Tumblr in one sentence. Anywhooo somebody posted this and I totally agree:

My views on sexuality:
  • If you’re gay, you need God
  • If you’re a lesbian, you need God
  • If you’re asexual, you need God
  • If you’re bisexual, you need God
  • If you’re pansexual, you need God
  • If you’re straight, you need God
  • If you’re not sure, you need God
  • If you hate on somebody for their sexuality, you need God
Point is...we all need God, and we are NOT to hate anybody for who they are. That's so not...Jesus like. :-)
Btw I wish everybody a happy new year. A new year means a new beginning. Use it.

In Christ,
Me

Hosea's wife (poem by me)

Hosea, a priest, a very godly and honored man.
Gomer a prostitue.

Hosea loved her more than a human being can.
Gomer lost the truth.

She sold her body in the midst of the night,
Standing there under that red light.

Her husband searching for her with all his heart,
Ready to forgive and forget and to write another part.

Undeserving of his love she knelt and looked at the God above,
How could a man like him see her as his beloved.

With eyes to see, and ears to hear
the truth becomes more than clear.

We are Hosea's wife standing under the red light,
In the mystery of the night.

Clothe yourself in His splendor,
Shed the scarlet light,
Fight, beloved, the good fight.

Twilight "book review"

I'm sorry but I had to put this out there:

The Twilight series is POORLY written!
Stephanie Meyer, what on earth were you doing? I don't get it. I really really don't. Let me explain:

1) It has NO original plot at all. I don't know where she's going. In the first book Bella meets a vampire, they fall in love but they're (of course) beating around the bush BUT In the end they are an item anyway. Cliché!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2) I don't get why Jacob Black is even in the book. You KNOW when you read New Moon that Bella will choose Edward. Jacob's relationship with Bella is basically a waste of precious time and trees for that matter.

3) Stephanie Meyer didn't think it through. Edward Cullen is a vampire and really like 180 years old or something. He looks like a 17 year old. Bella is a regular 17 year old. In Breaking Dawn or some other book in the serie, Bella becomes a vampire, and she get's pregnant. Vampires don't look older than 17 (according to Stephanie) meaning that Bella and Edward are eternally 17. If their baby becomes 17 the baby will not grow older (in age yes in appearance...no) so that would mean that mom, dad and kid are the same age. Like...nasty?

I am SURE with all that I am that Jane Austen (her book(s) Sense and Sensibility and I think Pride & Prejudice are mentioned in Twilight) would turn in her grave just because of this semi-romantic, cliché, corny book for so called "young adults". Well as a "young adult" I've got to tell you that this book is very poorly written. Poorly written and really disappointing.

In Christ,
Me

The bee

Just a little poem:

The bee is not afraid of me,
I know the butterfly;
The pretty people in the woods
Receive me cordially.

The brooks laugh louder when I come,
The breezes madder play.
Wherefore, mine eyes, thy silver mists?
Wherefore, O summer's day?

Christmas Time

Ah it's Christmastime again! The children shout from joy, Santa Claus is back in town. Carolers sing, and turkey's are bought. Yes that is Christmas. But don't we forget the TRUE reason for the season?

Jesus from Nazareth, the Messiah!
Doesn't he sound awfully perfect? Yup. But His time here on earth was anything BUT perfect.
It all started with His genealogy; Tamar slept with her father-in-law (after her husband died that is...), Rahab was a prostitute, David had an affaire with Bathsheba and when she became pregnant he ordered her husband Uriah (and best friend for that matter) to be killed. Yeah. Sound pretty dysfunctional to me.
His mother was portraid as a hooker because they thought Jesus was conceived out of wedlock (Mary and Joseph knew better). Then king Herod wanted to kill Him so he had to flee to Egypt with his parents, and the end of hs life was not that great. I'm talking about being flogged, spit at, hated and crucified.
Kind heavy huh? I know.

My point is that, that little baby boy in a manger who was born to die for the sins of the world, is the one and only reason for the season. There's nothing wrong with Santa Claus, carolers and present under the Christmas tree, but don't let materialism take away the real reason for the season. Jesus Christ. And for this Christmas season....remember His law: Love your neighbor as yourself! :-)

Harry Potter challenge

Yup, I finally gave in. I am actually reading Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I hated the movie I thought it was boring as heck but I wanted to challenge myself. And the challenge is:
Reading all of the books in a max. of 2 years!
I got the first book yesterday and I've already read a chapter and honestly...I kinda liked it. I'll keep ya posted!

Joy

What makes you happy?
Cupcakes, baby's, friendly people? I know these things make me happy.

Well...does God want us to be happy? Sure! But there's one thing he wants even more than us being happy; He wants us to be joyful!
What's the difference? Well happiness is dependent on situations, on things that happen, while joyfulness is a constant feeling. The feeling that everything is alright, even when your world is crumbling down. A joyful person is the one who can still smile while everything is going wrong. How can you be joyful when your in the midst of suffering?  There's only one person who can make you joyful even in despair. His name is Jesus. The first step to lasting happiness (joy) is admitting that you cannot bear everything on your own and that you need the infinite power of Jesus. Once you've done that you'll notice the difference. Everlasting joy and hope will come your way.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time....

We all loved to read fairy tales and fantasy books. We loved dreaming about a magical world where the good always win.

Once upon a time...

You dreamed bigger than you can now imagine. You took your imagination to infinity and beyond so to speak.

Now you feel too old to wander in the world of imagination...but one day....one day real soon....you'll wish upon a star for a happily ever after...

"One day you'll be old enough to read fairy tales again... " -C.S. Lewis
